• DESCRIPTION

Glass fiber-reinforced calcium silicate board is a high-end variant of fiber-reinforced calcium silicate board; it utilizes glass fiber as the reinforcing material to overcome the brittleness and cracking tendencies of traditional calcium silicate boards, thereby achieving superior mechanical properties.

Essentially, it represents a specific refinement regarding the type of reinforcing fiber used in "fiber-reinforced calcium silicate board" and can be viewed as an "enhanced version" of standard calcium silicate board.

Its manufacturing process is similar to that of standard calcium silicate boards, though the inclusion of glass fibers imposes stricter requirements on the dispersion and molding stages. Key steps include mixing raw materials with glass fibers to form a slurry, shaping the mixture via casting or pressing, and finally subjecting it to hydrothermal synthesis at high temperatures and pressures (e.g., 170–200°C) to generate the tobermorite crystal structure that imparts strength to the board.

• PROPERTIES

Ø High Strength: Flexural strength is significantly enhanced. Research indicates that through process optimization, the flexural strength of low-density fiber-reinforced fireproof boards can reach up to 9.11 MPa.

Ø Class A Fire Rating: Classified as a Class A non-combustible material; it does not burn or emit toxic smoke when exposed to fire, making it an ideal choice for high-rise buildings and tunnels.

Ø Moisture and Water Resistance: Low water absorption ensures stable performance in humid environments; the board does not warp or rot, making it suitable for use in bathrooms, kitchens, and similar areas.

Ø Dimensional Stability: Extremely low rates of drying shrinkage and moisture expansion mean the board is resistant to cracking or warping caused by fluctuations in temperature and humidity.

Ø Non asbestos and non stick to aluminum.

Ø Weather resistance, dimensional stability (small dry and wet deformation), and high strength.

Ø High-temperature resistant (operating temperature up to over 1000°C): good thermal insulation and high strength.

• APPLICATION

Ø Interior Construction Interior partitions, ceiling panels, wall backing boards, kitchen and bathroom wall panels, basement applications, raised flooring (e.g., for server rooms)

Ø Exterior Construction Exterior wall panels, curtain wall backing boards, roof decking, composite thermal insulation wall panels

Ø Industrial Applications High-temperature insulation materials (e.g., ladle insulation, industrial furnace linings), components in contact with molten aluminum (transition plates, filter plates), fire-resistant door cores

Ø Specialized & Transportation Marine interior bulkheads, fire-resistant air ducts, tunnel fire protection systems, backing boards for prefabricated interiors, loft flooring panels
