Choosing the right ceramic fiber paper for automotive gaskets depends mainly on the working temperature, thickness, density, compression and mechanical strength.

First confirm the actual continuous temperature of the gasket.
Below 800°C: standard ceramic fiber paper may be suitable.
800–1000°C: choose higher-purity or higher-density material.
1000–1260°C: high-temperature ceramic fiber paper is recommended.
Common thicknesses include 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 and 3 mm.
For sealing applications, thinner paper is often preferred, while thicker material provides better thermal insulation.
Automotive gaskets can experience vibration and thermal cycling. Therefore, choose ceramic fiber paper with sufficient tensile strength, compression resistance and dimensional stability.
For die-cut gaskets, higher-density paper is generally easier to process.
Check whether the gasket will contact exhaust gas, oil, fuel or other chemicals. The ceramic fiber paper should be selected according to the actual chemical environment.
For the correct ceramic fiber gasket material, suppliers should know:
Temperature + thickness + density + gasket size + pressure + working medium.
This information helps determine the most suitable ceramic fiber paper for automotive gaskets.
Mindelun can provide customized ceramic fiber paper in different temperatures, densities and thicknesses for high-temperature insulation and gasket applications.
