product details
• DESCRIPTION
Carbon Fiber Reinforced Calcium Silicate Board is a high-performance calcium silicate board enhanced with carbon fibers. It is not an ordinary building material but a specialized functional material primarily used in high-temperature industrial fields, particularly non-ferrous metal (especially aluminum) smelting and casting applications.
• PROPERTIES
Ø High Strength and Excellent Thermal Stability: Carbon fibers greatly enhance the board's strength. For example, some carbon fiber reinforced boards can achieve compressive strength of ≥18 MPa and flexural strength of ≥8.5 MPa. Meanwhile, they maintain stable performance at temperatures as high as 1000°C–1050°C, with excellent thermal shock resistance.
Ø Non-wetting" to Aluminum: This is a critical feature for aluminum industry applications. Carbon fiber reinforced high-density calcium silicate boards do not wet with molten non-ferrous metals like aluminum, effectively preventing adhesion and erosion by molten aluminum. This makes them ideal for components that come into direct contact with molten aluminum.
Ø Low Thermal Conductivity: They still provide good thermal insulation at high temperatures, with thermal conductivity as low as 0.04–0.05 W/(m·K), helping to reduce heat loss.
Ø Environmentally Safe: The product is asbestos-free, making it an environmentally friendly and safe material.
• APPLICATION
Ø Molten aluminum troughs, transition plates, filter plates: Utilizing its non-wetting and high-strength properties.
Ø Casting sprue bushings, (flow divider plates), hot-top rings: Used in precision casting processes like low-pressure casting, serving as a cost-effective alternative to titanium aluminate components.
Ø Insulating linings for industrial furnaces and kilns: Such as backing insulation layers for heating furnaces, annealing furnaces, and electrolytic cells.
Ø High-temperature molds and formers: For example, molds used in hot bending of automotive glass.
